Salfords Light Railway

The Salfords Light Railway diary

December 2003

A new member at my American model railway club is a builder and has offered to lend me a hand building the locoshed in the New Year.

"Outbid on eBay"!

Paul Middleton dropped me a tip about this loco on eBay when the price was very good. It was an unfinished Jeavons kit (never heard of them) in cast aluminium with cast iron side-frames. I started bidding but it went for over 250 in the end; which is still reasonable. Shame though, it is just the sort of thing that interests me.

It is always worth keeping an eye on www.ebay.co.uk, but not much 5" gauge comes up for sale.
